Prof. David D. Grafton, Professor of Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations who will teach his first course at Hartford Seminary in the fall, will participate in a panel discussion on Islamophobia at the Quaker American Friends Service Committee and the Council of American Islamic Relations in Philadelphia on July 24, just before the start of the Democratic National Convention.

Twenty-nine students came together at Hartford Seminary during the week of June 19, 2016, to participate in a unique course called Building Abrahamic Partnerships (BAP). The course, which has been offered since 2004, was the brainchild of Prof. Yehezkel Landau, who will retire from the Seminary this summer.

Asian Religions Course Welcomed Back to Hartford SeminaryJune 27, 2016
For the second consecutive year, Hartford Seminary hosted a group of experts for a week-long class in The Spirituality and Practices of Asian Religions. The class, which ran from June 13-18, was supported by a generous grant from the Shinnyo-En Foundation, a Buddhist organization based in White Plains, NY.

On behalf of the American Muslim community, we, the undersigned, want to extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the barbaric assault that occurred early yesterday morning at Pulse, an LGBTQ nightclub in Orlando, Florida. We unequivocally say that such an act of hate-fueled violence has no place in any faith, including Islam. As people of faith, we believe that all human beings have the right to safety and security and that each and every human life is inviolable.
